When our clients come in, they receive love-centered, quality midwifery care. In the words of Staff Midwife Elikem, "It takes a village. I’m very big on taking care of the family, in addition to mom... We are building healthy families and in building healthy families, you build healthy communities. Healthy mothers, healthy families, healthy communities is our goal."
In 2022, Birth Detroit Care cared for more than 70 families and served as a one-stop shop, providing prenatal and postpartum care, ultrasounds, transportation to and from clinic, car seats, and breast pumps. We wrap our arms around our clients to ensure they feel seen, heard, safe, and well cared for during their time with us, and that all their needs in the childbearing year are met.
A Birth Detroit Care clinic family shared how comforting and supportive the level of care felt to them: “I guess it’s just a beautiful experience to be cared for in this way and have people who—I definitely have to say their choice of staff was very, very good. Like excellent. All of the people in there were very loving and caring and empathetic.”
We believe that all families deserve to be seen, safe, and celebrated by their midwives and other healthcare providers. Healthy families lead to healthy futures.
